Huis van Erfgoed (Heritage House)

Oosterhout | Zandheuvel

2010

The Huis van Erfgoed is located in the centre of Oosterhout. It is an extension and a refurbishment of the former Zandheuvelschool (St. Vincentiusschool, 1906). This completely refurbished, characteristic building has opened its doors under the name: Huis van Erfgoed. Five parties make use of the building: the Speelgoedmuseum [Toy Museum], the Carnavalsmuseum [Carnival Museum], the Heemkundekring [Local History Club], the Cultureel Centrum H19 [H19 Cultural Centre] and the Archeologische Dienst [Archeological Service] of the Municipality of Oosterhout. The choice for sustainable materials and an innovative installation system, i.e. CO2-controlled ventilation and cooling by means of an Awaduct system, has resulted in an energy label B, which used to be G before the refurbishment.
