A contemporary area has been added to the traditional arrangement of the villa’s room-like spaces. Cooking and eating are given a new location outside the original house and are strongly focused on the garden and the woods lying behind it. The use of materials contrasts with that of the original villa: steel, glass, concrete and wood have been used naturally. The canopy and the large terrace strengthen the indoor-outdoor relationship. Glass strips separate the pavilion-like volume from the existing house, which as a result receives daylight into its very heart.
