House vdB is located on the border between the built-up and the rural area of Prinsenbeek. It was the clients´ wish to realise a maximum living volume. This resulted in a three-layer maximal construction on the permitted 15×15 metre building area. Raising the ground floor slightly above ground level allows daylight to enter the cellar by means of band windows. The elevated ground floor also gives the occupants a better view of the wonderful surroundings.
